From "ear-way" to "nay-nay".
So, when she first started making sounds with her mouth, we thought she was either speaking some alien language or French. The amount of spit and vibration that she got in her throat was something we could not even mimic. For the first few weeks, and maybe even first 2 months, she kept saying what sounded like "earrrr-waaaaayyy", but with a lot of spit in the throat. So that is was her first word. It could have been "Alien" or "French" or just "Lillia", but it was a determined, thought-out sound/word she fiercely said, all of the time. So we started saying "ear-way" back to her and she seemed to like that we were speaking her language. Now, lately, especially when she is kind of crabby and wanting something, she says "naaaaay-naaaaaay". So we started calling her and referring to her as "Nay-Nay". Sort of a new nick-name. She went from "Ted" to "Sweet P" to "Nay-Nay". We seem to call her everything but Lillia! We love her name, we just like to get a little silly with the nicknames. ;)
