Our trip to Fire Island+1st foods+Mmmmm+Waving+Sooo Big
We spent the last week in Fire Island with our great friends Gillian & Aaron and their daughters Nora (5) and Lila (3). Lillia LOVED playing with the girls all week and being loved by them and G & A. She also went into the ocean (the bay side) for the first time and loved it too! She sat in the sand and was happy as a clam. She took outdoor showers with us and slept in a pack-in-play at night without a fuss. She even stayed up until 9pm most nights, unlike her usual 7:30/8pm bedtime. She had her first mac & cheese (Annie's peace shaped noodles), Pirate's Booty, gold fish crackers, cut up mango and kiwi. (Oops, I guess i was supposed to spread those out a little bit.) And today tried watermelon for the first time. She has been eating whole cheerios for about 1.5 wks now. She is really loving everything i give her and it's been super fun for us to experiment. She is able to eat her food mostly chunky now, and is using her 6! teeth and gums to chew things up.
This is what she has tried so far...
fruits: bananas, apples, pears, plums, peaches, kiwi, watermelon
veggies: broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, potatoes, beans, peas, acorn squash, avocados
misc: yogurt, tofu, teething biscuits, all grains of baby cereals, lentils, bagels
This week we will be trying spinach and grilled chicken breast.
Mmmmmmm. I say that whenever I feed her and now she does it back to me when she likes something or wants to have more of something or wants to nurse. So cute! I'm not sure if it means "MMMmmm-mom", or "MMmmmm-food" or "Mmmmmmm-milk", but I think it means all 3.
Also, she started waving bye -bye and today put up her arms by herself when we said "Sooooo Big!". OMG she is growing up so fast!
