The BIG day!

Wow! Well it started out slow, but boy did it get moving along! Water started to leak at 9am and then we drove to the hospital for 1st round of antibiotics. Next time we needed to be back was in 4 hrs. It wasn't until our ride home (like 12ish) that I felt a contraction that made my eyes water. I knew I was in for a rough ride when I felt that one. I took a shower (ha!), got my bags packed, reserved a room at the Holiday Inn Express (so we didn't have to go back and forth) and went back to the hospital around 1ish. The contractions were getting pretty serious, so Terry, our amazing doula, met us there. We proceeded to try to get to the hotel while I was having contractions that made me stop in my tracks. Got food at a deli and people on the street were staring at me and said "You know, there is a hospital right there!" Little did they know we just left the hospital. The people at the hotel asked if i need an ambulance (ha!). We made it up to the room just in time for the yelling to begin, ;) and I spent the next 4 hrs on all fours in the shower with Terry giving me sips of water from a straw and trying to get me to eat a pb&j. Matt was smiling and getting towels and being amazing. We went back to the hospital (barely) walked down 59th Street from 10th to 9th ave. and back to triage to find out I was 7 cms! Yay! only 3 more to go! They called Dr. Rhee and we got admitted to the birth center. A few more hours in the jacuzzi tub (amazing!) and pushing and at 11:24pm there she was! 8 lbs 11 oz and 21.5" long!!! It was the most amazing, precious, beautiful, wonderful, incredible, fulfilling day of our lives!!! For these and more pics, visit our Kodak Gallery album.
